My counselor brought out the most creative parts of me when we workshopped pieces together. Unafraid to be myself, I presented my most genuine voice in my writing while getting insight into the artistry that goes into great writing. My counselor is a wealth of knowledge, with so many crazy suggestions and ideas. It was a true honor working with him—I have come out of the experience with an improved capacity to write with a unique voice and think critically and creatively. I definitely finished the experience as a better person, owed to the incredible person my counselor is. Despite the stresses of this time of year, I would certainly do this all again for the opportunity to work with him again.

I learned and gained a lot out of the essay counseling process at Tokyo Academics. My counselor helped me decide on an essay topic and narrow in on themes and ideas that I wanted to highlight, which is what I think made my essays stand out. By the end of the process, my essays were genuine, well-written, and concise, and would not have been as focused or polished without the help of TA. Not to mention, My counselor was very fun to work with and always makes essay-counseling student-centered; it’s obvious that he wants what’s best for his students and wants to make the essay-writing process as enjoyable and engaging as possible.

I’ve had the privilege to know my counselor for around five years now, and he helped me get into both boarding school and college. I especially enjoyed working with my counselor during my college process because he made lessons worthwhile. Every lesson was both productive and fun; we would get more than enough work done while leaving room to catch up every time we met. Most importantly, these essays got me into my first choice college early!

I highly recommend TA’s essay counseling! College essays are often overwhelming, but this counseling definitely reduces the stress and helps you to write what exactly you are trying to tell. Additionally, throughout the counseling, I was able to figure out what I really want from a college education, and I’m grateful that I chose TA!
