Yi graduated from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada, with a B.Sc. Double Major in Environmental Chemistry and Psychology. During her educational career, she received outstanding achievement awards in several subjects and 5/5 on AP Biology and English Literature, and won third prize in the Concours d’art oratoire French public speaking competition. She also tutored students in math and science, as well as provided essay writing guidance and editing for peers.
Post-graduation, she worked briefly in the field of environmental technology before transitioning into scientific and technical writing. She has over seven years of experience in helping ESL researchers and academics improve their theses, dissertations, and journal publications. Furthermore, she has worked as a technical writer with cutting-edge companies in IT. She excels at learning complex concepts quickly and helping engineers and scientists to convey their knowledge in simple language.
In addition, she has received a municipal award in recognition of her volunteer work with local children’s organizations and citizen support services in her native Vancouver. She enjoys art exhibitions, classical concerts, and exploring new places in her free time, and she practices piano and juggling to unwind.
