Bio:

Nicola graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2024 with a First Class Bachelor of Arts in Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic. Her main interests lay in medieval French literature, Old Norse literature, and medieval Welsh literature—writing dissertations in the latter two across her second and third years of study. She served as the College Representative for her subject, guiding new students as they settled into university life. Before that, Nicola earned top marks across her secondary education, achieving straight 9s at GCSE and 3 A*s at A-Level, as well as subject awards in English Literature and Classical Civilisation.

Currently, Nicola is studying Public Policy at the University of Tokyo, wishing to develop a new set of skills and expertise, whilst simultaneously picking up a new language. Since arriving in Japan a year ago, Nicola has worked a couple tutoring jobs, leading to her students—ranging from middle school to university level—improving their grades, passing exams, and gaining admission to their desired universities. Nicola believes that learning should be both enriching and enjoyable, adapting her approach based on each student’s needs and interests, ensuring that they stay engaged while also building their confidence and capability in the subject. She takes care to explain difficult concepts in a way that is accessible.

In her free time, she enjoys reading up on medieval history, leather-crafting, and translating Georgian folk-songs into English.
