Jesse graduated from the University of California, Berkeley (U.C. Berkeley) with a Bachelor’s of Art in Economics and Minor in Music. He passed his CPA exams, worked at the second largest public accounting firm in the world, and was slated to join the U.S. Government’s Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation before he decided to pursue a different life path, completing a TEFL certification and moving to Japan.
Since middle school, Jesse has been involved in tutoring various students and friends in subjects ranging from AP® Calculus to college level Macroeconomics. In college, he also started building his own international creative production teams, where he taught team members on data and trend analysis in relation to the YouTube algorithm. Because of this experience, he knows first hand the importance of being able to teach complex subjects simply from 0 to 100.
He placed within the top 1% of all SAT® takers with a perfect 24 on the SAT® essay, multiple perfect scores on the SAT® II tests, and has passed 11 AP® tests, scoring 5’s on the vast majority.
Outside of academics, Jesse is impassioned with creative activities. Since he was young, he has performed music, and has performed as principal alto, tenor, and bass trombones for orchestras and lead trombones for jazz big bands. He’s performed everything from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker to Mozart’s Requiem in the cathedrals of San Francisco; from Gershwin’s An American in Paris in Buenos Aires’ Teatro Colon to Debussy’s La Mer in Budapest’s Liszt Academy; and from the jazz classics of Charlie Parker in front of billion dollar companies to the highlight of his musical career, Mahler’s 5th Symphonie in C moll in The Golden Great Hall of the Musikverein, the most venerated classical concert hall on the planet, and home of the Vienna Philharmonic.
Jesse is also currently working on his own animated film, working on his writing and illustration skills before planning to move on to music production.
