Biography:
Franklin is a stem cell scientist by training and a cancer specialist. He was invited to pursue his Ph.D. at Tokyo University, where he became one of the earliest researchers in Japan to successfully generate neutrophils from iPS cells. During this period, he received multiple scholarships and awards.
Franklin continued his academic career at Tokyo University as a Postdoctoral Researcher. He led collaborative initiatives with Eisai, a Japanese pharmaceutical firm, focusing on the development of a drug screening platform utilizing stem cells. Additionally, he partnered with Bio-Rad to design a system for assessing gene therapy efficacy through advanced PCR methodologies.
Previously, as the Study Director for an American company specializing in oncology drug development, Franklin provided support to numerous pharmaceutical companies globally in the advancement of innovative cancer therapies. He also served as the company’s Subject Matter Expert for Leukemia, delivering internal research, development guidance as well as external consulting services to clients as needed.
In addition to supporting students at the postgraduate level, Franklin is experienced in teaching Biology to high school students. As a father of two, Franklin recognizes the importance of education and supporting students’ development. He is committed to assisting students with their academic progress at Tokyo Academics.
