Yale University

Bio:

Lex graduated from Yale University with a degree in Chinese Language and Literature. After graduating, Lex went on to work in advertising at Ogilvy and Mather in New York City before moving to Shanghai to work in college admissions consulting. While backpacking for a year across Asia, Lex found her way into the Asia School of Business — a joint venture between MIT Sloan and Bank Negara. She was part of the founding MBA class and received a full scholarship.

Lex has seven years of experience working with students with a focus on finding hidden motivations and career potential. She is skilled at sifting through chaos and finding students’ unique stories. In addition to college counselling, Lex also trains public speaking, interview prep, and critical thinking. Her favorite part about working with students is providing a calm safe foundation during one of the most turbulent times of their lives. She believes that college doesn’t define who you are, but can be the first step to choosing who you want to become.
Outside of work, Lex loves to travel. She has lived in China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and currently lives in Germany. She is also passionate about technology and has worked in AI, cryptocurrency / Blockchain, and fintech areas for five years.

Lex’s students have been accepted into elite institutions across the United States and Europe including NYU Stern, Vassar, Wesleyan, Emory, and all of the UCs. Lex’s students have won places at Canadian universities including University of Waterloo and University of British Columbia, and Japanese universities including Waseda University. As a student herself, Lex was an IB and AP Student, offered admittance to Yale, Columbia, Brown, Penn Wharton, Cornell, and Dartmouth, as well as seven other Top 50 schools. She was offered roughly $1 million in scholarship funding across institutions and received the Penn Book Award.
