Outside of Tokyo Academics, James is a lifelong sailor. From his beginnings on the Atlantic coast of Brittany, France to his time competing on UC Berkeley’s sailing team, James can point to his 2,070-nautical-mile (3,830 km) race across the Pacific Ocean from San Francisco to Hawaii as one of the greatest achievements of his life.
