Bio:

Andrew holds two degrees from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Asian Studies with a concentration in Japanese Studies before returning to the Ross School of Business to earn his one-year Master of Management degree. Prior to his time at the University of Michigan, Andrew was named an AP® Scholar earning top scores in a variety of subjects including Calculus BC, World and US History, Biology, Environmental Science, and more. He also scored within the 99th percentile for both the ACT and SAT®.

Prior to joining Tokyo Academics, Andrew spent time as a peer tutor in the Japanese Language program as an undergraduate student and as a grader for two classes during his master’s program. He was also a peer tutor in high school for math and science subjects such as Algebra and Earth Science/ Geology.

Andrew is passionate about empowering students to become self-directed learners. His hope is for every student who studies with Tokyo Academics to feel confident and prepared for standardized tests, high school classes, and future college coursework. In addition, Andrew is particularly interested in synthesizing and incorporating test-taking strategies to help students maximize their scores on standardized tests.

Outside of the classroom, Andrew is a competitive powerlifter and avid skier. He plans to attend language school and hopes to pass the JLPT N2 or N1 exam next summer.
