Bio:

Originally from Silicon Valley in California, Emily graduated with a BA in Economics from Wellesley College, the #3 liberal arts college in the US and the #1 women’s college in the US. At Wellesley, Emily took cross-registration courses at MIT and studied abroad for a year at Oxford where she took classes at the Oxford Saïd Business School. As a student herself, Emily also received admission to UC Berkeley, Middlebury, UCLA, UC San Diego, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz, and UC Irvine.
During college, Emily interned at State Street in Boston and Goldman Sachs in New York where she worked on the Pan Asian Equities team and the Structured Assets team. After graduating, Emily worked full-time for Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong in the Prime Brokerage Capital Introduction team within the Securities Division (now the Global Markets Division) where she helped hedge fund managers pitch to institutional investors, organized conferences for hedge fund managers to connect with investors, and analyzed hedge fund industry performance and investment decisions.

In addition to her work in global finance, Emily also worked in the entertainment industry negotiating contracts for professional dance choreographers and securing deals with BVLGARI, Adidas, KFC, Hyundai, Sephora, LuHan, and Jackson Wang for music videos, television commercials, and live tours.
After her time in the corporate world, Emily transitioned to teaching which she finds deeply fulfilling. Emily loves connecting with students and seeing them step out into the world equipped with skills and knowledge that will help them live their lives to the fullest.

As a college consultant for Tokyo Academics Emily enjoys guiding students in building competitive resumes, preparing for interviews, networking with industry professionals, and planning long-term for future careers in the industry.

Emily has over five years of experience as an educator, helping her students achieve high test scores and top grades with her SAT® and high school English courses. Emily has also helped MA and PhD students at the Tokyo Institute of Technology prepare for interviews at Google, Panasonic, and Kao, helped students gain admission to study abroad programs at Oxford University, and conducts alumni interviews for candidates applying to Wellesley.
