To test or not to test? In a world of test-optional policies, changing SAT formats, and so many other priorities demanding a student’s time, that has truly become one of the most important questions. For many universities, this will be the final year before they re-evaluate their test-optional policies and decide on what to do going forward. Many are predicting that the more selective schools will be reverting back towards some degree of test requirement, while others seem certain that the gains in equity and access created by these policies will be a lasting shift. With so much to consider, especially given the time and money investment that it often takes to significantly improve one’s standardized test scores, how should the SAT/ACT fit into one’s college application strategy? In this talk, Senior Admissions Consultant Tyler Kusunoki will share some of his insights on the current state of college admissions in terms of standardized testing, and offer advice on how to:
- Interpret and understand the myriad of different test submission policies, from optional to super score to self-report and more
- Decide which test is right for you between the SAT and ACT
