Zarah H

Imperial College London
(In-person, Online)

Bio:

Zarah graduated from The University of Warwick in Biomedical Science and then went to pursue a Masters in Reproductive developmental biology at Imperial College London, after realizing how understudied this area of science was especially by women.

She has been a private tutor for 3 years, preparing young children for 11+, GCSE, IGCSE, and A-levels in English, Biology as well as tutoring Math at the elementary school level. She has always enjoyed working with children and has taught on behalf of UNICEF during university and was an ESL teacher for a local refugee school. She believes tuition not only provides children with the tools to excel in their studies but also the skillset to confidently communicate with adults that will benefit them in their future careers.

Wanting to be more involved in science communication and bridging the gap between academia and the public, she joined a Cardiovascular medicine journal as a Scientific Publisher. She worked with high-profile international academics on projects that highlighted novel and emerging science, such as COVID 19 and its relationship to cardiovascular health.

In her spare time, she enjoys still life painting and has a keen interest in post-colonial literature.
