Alice

The University of Tokyo
(Online & In-Person)

Bio:

Alice performed her undergraduate and master’s studies in biology at the École Normale Supérieure (ENS) of Paris, France’s most prestigious university. She obtained her degrees with the highest honors, then moved to Japan to enroll in the doctoral program of the Graduate School of Science at the University of Tokyo. Upon completion, she had the honor of receiving her Ph.D. diploma directly from the dean and was granted the Graduate School of Science Research Encouragement Award for her discoveries in the field of plant epigenetics and regeneration.

In the past, Alice has tutored high school students in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology, as well as served as an oral examiner in biology for undergraduate students. Drawing from her own success with admission processes at top-tier universities, she joined Tokyo Academics to share her love for science with the young minds of today and assist them in reaching their academic goals.

Throughout her academic journey, Alice performed several laboratory internships at renowned institutions such as IBENS in France, the Salk Institute in the United States and RIKEN in Japan. Until recently, she was investigating the relationships between cell types, cell cycle states, and epigenetic marks as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Tokyo. Her work has led to a patent and several publications in high-impact scientific journals, and she notably received the “Best Poster” award for her most recent presentation at an esteemed international conference.

When she is not working, Alice enjoys exploring the parks of Tokyo in search of a good spot to read her latest fantasy novel. If it is raining, you will probably find her in her kitchen, baking cakes while listening to vintage jazz records.
