Kelly Friedman attended New York University where she completed her bachelor’s degree in Education with a minor in Social and Cultural Analysis. Over the next six years, she taught Global History in New York City public schools where she enjoyed creating a community within her classroom and facilitating academic and interpersonal growth. She developed curricula aligned with both Common Core and New York State standards, served as the Social Studies Department Lead, and was an active member of the school community. She was awarded tenure in her fourth year of teaching and completed a Master of Arts degree at Stony Brook University the following year. In her free time, Kelly enjoys exploring the many neighborhoods of Tokyo on her bicycle and eating sashimi regularly.
