Bio:

Originally from beautiful Colorado, Kaitlyn is a recent graduate from Waseda University, attaining her Master’s in the field of international relations. Her MA thesis focused on the influence of international norms on LGBT policy adoption in Japan, and how we must re-evaluate our preconceived notions of “urbanity” equating “progressiveness”. She graduated with honors, making the Dean’s List and serving as the salutatorian of her cohort.

Before coming to Tokyo, Kaitlyn graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor’s degree in linguistics with minors in Spanish and international relations. During her time at BU, she made the Dean’s list multiple times, joined Delta Phi Epsilon, a prestigious foreign service organization, and worked with high school students through Model UN. She loves Boston and wants all of her students to visit!

To gain acceptance into BU, Kaitlyn graduated high school with 6 AP®, 26 college credits, and a score of 33 on the ACT. She has primarily tutored English and Math for both small groups and individual students. She also tutors students preparing for the SAT®. Her students have grown in both confidence and academic capability

Outside of TA, Kaitlyn loves figure skating, cooking, and reading. She proudly maintains a five star island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and volunteers with the Japan Cat Network.
