Jeffrey graduated from the University of British Columbia before completing the teacher education program at the same school. He is a certified Professional Teacher through the British Columbia College of Teachers and has over 25 years of experience in education. He completed a Master of Education at the University of Calgary and has held administrative roles in Japanese private schools and Japan-based international schools.
Jeffrey has a Certificate of International School Counseling and is a member of the International School Counselor Association.
During his 20+ years living and working in Japan, Jeffrey has attained Level 1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Exam. His experience has given him a solid understanding of education systems within Japan and the larger Asian Pacific region.
In addition to teaching and administrating International Baccalaureate (IB) programs (PYP, MYP and DP) in Japanese private and international schools, Jeffrey has been involved extensively with the IB organization, as a school visiting team member and delivering workshop in the Asia Pacific region. He is also a Senior Examiner for IB DP Mathematics and a Standardization Team Member & Examiner for the DP Extended Essay.
As a senior administrator at a top 10 globally ranked IB school, Jeffrey has designed and led initiatives that guide and support students with attaining admission to the top universities in the world. He is thrilled to be supporting our TA students in doing the same.
Guided by Mahatma Gandhi’s message to ‘be the change we wish to see in the world’, Jeffrey believes that education is key to making the world a better place for all and is proud to have had the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our future leaders. He is an active volunteer with the Goi Peace Foundation and also spends time supporting various organizations in Japan as a volunteer.
