Biography:
Haftu, born and raised in Ethiopia, has a BSc in Electrical Engineering and MTech in Micro-Electronics Engineering from Mekelle University and Addis Ababa University respectively. He also has an MEng in Computer Engineering from Kumoh National Institute of Technology, South Korea where he spent most of his time doing research. His research interest and specialization is machine learning for Computer vision, NLP and recommendation systems. He is currently working as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for a smart mobility company in South Korea. Prior to moving to South Korea, he was working as a lecturer at Bahir Dar University where he was engaged in delivering lectures, supervising students with their undergraduate thesis works, and conducting research.

Outside work, he enjoys reading literary works (poems, novels, biographies), listening to music, and a walk in the park.
