Bio:

Berk graduated from NYU with a double major in Economics, Business, and Finance. He received the NYU Grant and Scholarship for Academic Achievement (4 consecutive years). After graduating, Berk gained finance work experience ranging from Shanghainese start-ups to interning at the Ministry of Energy and Economics in Cyprus, to mergers and acquisitions at Microsoft. Berk has experience as an Academic Peer Mentor for Intermediate Microeconomics, Futures and Options, Debt Instruments, and Markets.

Berk began academic consulting by helping exchange/boarding students in Canada and USA and is extremely passionate about helping families with boarding school applications in particular. He has 7+ years of experience in college prep, educational planning, essay counseling, applications, and scholarships for international students from Turkey, Korea, and China. Berk loves helping his students find their true place in the world and believes that good students do well anywhere, but it takes a special place to thrive.

Berk has successfully supported students to gain acceptance to MIT, NYU Stern, Schwarzman scholars (postgrad), Cornell SC Johnson, Penn Wharton, U-Chicago, Caltech, USC, Berkeley, and Northwestern McCormick.

Berk has extensive teaching experience including various AP®s, business English classes, public speaking, and academic writing. A self-proclaimed bibliophile, Berk loves writing short stories of his own. He particularly enjoys the college essay process of creating a picture of the student’s “self” using their achievements as puzzle pieces.

Outside of work, Berk is his friends’ favorite chef, a whiny hiker, and happy camper. Berk recently began learning Japanese as a fifth language alongside English, Turkish, Chinese, and German.
