Ben Hsu completed a bachelor of engineering degree in both Biomedical and Electrical Engineering at Vanderbilt University. He has scored in the top percentiles across the standardized tests throughout his academic career, including the SAT, SAT II Subject Tests, ACT, and AP tests. Since 2016, Ben has been providing test preparation and support for the SAT and ACT for dozens of students, along with curriculum writing and essay revision. During his senior year in college, he competed in the NASA Student Launch Competition with a team of 12 other engineering seniors, designing and building a 12-foot rocket, which carried a custom-built charging station and quadcopter with sampling tool payload. He led the design of the rocket electronics, and the team won 1st overall at the competition against over 50 other colleges across the US. He also played the cello in his school’s student-led community orchestra for all 4 years, serving as vice president for 2 of those years. In his free time, Ben is currently (trying to) learn Japanese, as well as continuing to expand his coding abilities. He also enjoys learning new cooking recipes on the side and is particularly fond of Gordon Ramsay’s recipes.
