College Admissions are more competitive than ever.
Most schools saw an increase in applications last year by anywhere from 20-40%. This has reduced admissions percentages across the board:
Class Time: 17:00 – 20:00 JST
Dates: July 26th through July 30, 2021
Grades: 10 – 11
By the end of 11th grade, students will need to have a plan that strategizes around the admissions process. This week-long course provides students with a full overview of admission applications and helps them identify areas of improvement for further preparation as application season approaches.
Each student will construct a personal college application portfolio, which will include:
Explore University & College Options
Participants will begin building a list of best-fit universities and colleges to match their current applicant profile while also planning to improve their admission chances for “reach” or dream schools.
Prepare for SAT, ACT, and Subject Exams
Students will learn more about the requisite exams for admissions and practice with sample tests and questions to maximize their scores.
Chat with University Alumni
Students will have opportunities to speak with alumni from Ivy League institutions, prestigious liberal arts schools, and top-tier state universities about college life and the admissions process.
Identify Viable Majors and Careers
Using the research-backed psychological instrument, The Strong Interest Inventory®, students will identify best-fit fields of study, career paths, and relevant, interesting high school coursework.
Plan Out Extracurricular Activities
Students will evaluate current interests and extracurricular involvement, build a unifying application narrative, and identify ideal future summer and extracurricular opportunities.
