Since 2012, we’ve evolved from a few university friends to a growing number of part-time and full-time individuals located in Tokyo, as well as working remotely. We are an organization of experts deeply passionate about helping students meet their potential and capture the opportunities of the future.

We are looking for a Sales Representative based in Tokyo to grow the TA community. You must be available to meet clients face-to-face at our office during our general business hours of 10AM – 7PM JST.

What you will work on:
  • Follow up on leads – via email, calls, etc. to establish relationships within the current TA community.
  • Reach out to prospective customers and close new customers to get started with tutoring services, including matching with the appropriate tutor and running the diagnostic session.
  • Provide a detailed understanding of our services and offer expertise to customers in support of our tutoring services.
  • Coordinate with our Customer Success team to transition new clients into Tokyo Academics.
  • Identify customer needs and refer customers to appropriate resources for academic support, while working within Tokyo Academics guidelines and values at all times.
  • Accustomed to setting goals, creating plans, and carrying out the plan to reach the goal.
  • Eventually establish new sales channels to build your book of business.
Our ideal candidate:
  • Fluent English (speaking/reading/writing), conversational Japanese a BIG plus.
  • Results-driven, autonomous, and flexible.
  • Thorough knowledge in multiple online cloud-based Customer Relationship Management software (ie. Hubspot).
  • High proficiency with Microsoft and Internet applications (Google Sheets, Docs, etc)
  • Good systematic and organizational skills.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, curious and a self-starter.
  • 2+ years experience in a similar sales role or at an education company.

Work hours:
  • 40hrs/week
  • Can work flexible schedule, ideally available 5 days a week during regular business hours (10am-7pm Japan Standard Time)
