SSAT Reading and Verbal Class

Our middle school Upper-Level SSAT Reading & Verbal course accelerates students to success on the SSAT. Students rapidly acquire vocabulary through the study of roots, prefixes, suffixes, and over 200 test-centric words. Students quickly improve reading skills and learn test-taking strategies such as elimination and time management. Students will be expected to complete roughly 2-3 hours of homework per day.


What are the benefits of this class?

  • You will learn vocabulary that would normally take years to acquire in a matter of months.

  • You will practice the skills necessary for the analogy and synonym segments of the verbal test.

  • You will improve your reading skills through encounters with many different types of passages, and learn skills for the reading test.

  • Even if you do not plan to take the SSAT, this class can improve your middle school reading comprehension and writing.


Requirements

  • Mock SSAT exam to be taken before the beginning of the class.

  • Recommended for students in grades 7 and 8.


Includes

  • Weekly instruction to the end of the semester.

  • Original TA materials and strategies.

  • Reading and Verbal content may alternate from class to class.
