As Sales Manager, you will be in charge of running our sales operations while working closely with the Director of Marketing, Head of Customer Success, and our Academic Directors. Your main responsibilities will include running diagnostics (or initial sales conversations) with customers, welcoming new customers into Tokyo Academics, providing sound educational guidance for incoming/prospective students, and coordinating with tutors to create a supportive academic plan for the diagnostics. Finally, this role will help foster and develop relationships within the local community and at international schools surrounding Tokyo.

What you will work on:
  • Responsible for achieving and growing total revenue for new, incoming clients. 
  • Support incoming/prospective customers by delivering high quality, consultative discussions to identify and recommend customer educational needs and align Tokyo Academics products and services to address those needs.
  • Communicating regularly with program managers, instruction managers, directors of tutoring, operational staff, and other colleagues at Tokyo Academics ensures that students receive maximum support and each program runs smoothly.
  • Meet regularly with senior management to report on Sales Team performance and provide overall guidance on new direction and initiatives within the sales department
  • Maintains up-to-date and accurate sales records, including maintaining sales records, processing incoming client requests, preparing sales quotes, budgets, and reports
  • Understanding market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ products, prices, and sales; share information with customers as part of value-added services provided.
Our ideal candidate:
  • Native English (speaking/reading/writing) 
  • Fluent Japanese (speaking/reading/writing)
  • Has an understanding of the AP curriculum, IB curriculum and/or the US educational system (preferred)
  • Knowledge in one or multiple online cloud-based Customer Relationship Management software (Hubspot) preferred.
  • Good systematic and organizational skills.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, curious and a self-starter
  • 4+ years experience in similar education or sales role

Work hours:
  • 40hrs/week
  • Can work flexible schedule, ideally available 5 days a week during regular business hours (10am-7pm Japan Standard Time)
