Building Your College List

Deciding on a final list of colleges to apply to can be one of the more stressful parts of the college application process. Our National Association for College Admission Counseling- certified counselors guide students through the process by identifying a starting list of that best reflects each student’s profile, interests, and priorities. From there, we help students select and pare down their choices to a top 10 list.

In this counseling session, students will…

  • Strategically build a list of “safety,” “target,” and “reach” schools from the student’s academic and extracurricular profile
  • Provide tools and guidance for students to engage in independent research and make the most of college fairs/information sessions to help solidify their lists
  • Learn about the varied types of schools based on size, caliber, region, academic focus, and more
  • Develop an application deadline calendar to ensure timely completion of applications
